• Question: I want to be a footballer when i'm older, how could science help me be a footballer?

      Science can help you become better at football in lots of different ways but if I could give you just one piece of advice it would be to play as many different sports for as long as possible. Science has shown us that ‘early specialisation’ (just playing one sport from a young age) is actually not as good for your development as playing lots of different sports. You learn so much from the experiences different sports give you. England footballer Harry Maguire is a great example as he says that he learnt vision and passing from playing hockey and bravery and agility from playing rugby. All that combines to make him the footballer he now is.
