Air resistance occurs whenever something moves through the air. The object collides with air particles which slow it down. We can reduce air resistance by making objects more streamlined, which means that the air can move around the object more easily – think of the shape of aeroplanes and rockets.

So to answer your question, we can create air resistance by:
      – having air (more air means more resistance)
      – having a very un-streamlined object!
