Question: could the earth be shaped like a donut?

Gravity acts towards the centre of any mass, so planets are usually spherical. However, it might be possible for a toroidal (doughnut-shaped) planet to exist if some other forces were added to make the mass move away from the hole. Really fast rotation during formation might work!
