      As far as we have figure out so far, it all started with the Big bang! so before that what we know as the universe did not really exist. There was no space or time.

      Now, you may ask, what was there before? But the whole idea of before did not even make sense! This is a very cool thing to think about, but also very confusing. But don’t be scared of being confused, because being confused is the first step in understanding something.

      So, yes, there was a beginning of time. We have seen evidence when we look out to the universe, that at some point in the past (almost 14 billion years ago), all the universe was concentrated in a point, sort of speak. And that for some reason it started expanding, which is something that our universe is still doing!
